I played one in college. It was a decent horn. It would not be on my short list right now, but overall it is an ok horn.abuttuba wrote:What is the general thought on these Kalison tubas, and who is Daryl Smith? Just wanted some input.

JD Salas, a UK grad, was my applied teacher for 2 years and played on a Kalison CC. From what I could tell from him, I don't believe it was his most favorite horn, but he made it sound absolutely great! That seems to be the general consensus in fact of anyone I know who's played one. They're just average, nothing worth complaining over, nothing worth going nuts over.
