Great !! Nothing can compare to adding your own musical voice to others to create the beautiful sound of a large ensemble. And I hope you also experience the camaraderie among the members that so many of us do in our own bands and orchestras. Good luck and have fun!

Have courage. Realize your limitations. Have fun. If you enjoy the first rehearsal, you will likely enjoy subsequent ones even more. That's how I see it.
