Music Application

Hey guys, I recently acquired a couple Mahler Symphony recordings (Mahler 2 and Mahler 3 to be specific), and much to my iTunes disbelief, the specific movements are spliced to many individual tracks. I believe Mahler 2 is somehwere around 52 tracks! Now, I can see how this might be helpful, but I'd rather prefer five tracks, one for each movement.

So, I'm trying to find a computer application which will un-splice musical recordings. I've been looking and haven't found one, so if anyone knows of one (that also runs on Mac OSX), I'd greatly appreciate it.

I use audacity to splice mp3 files. I don't know about un-splicing though.

What you can do is open up the first spliced track, then open up the 2nd one. Cut the entire 2nd track and paste it on to the end of the first track. Repeat for the remaining tracks. It is a LOT of work, but it is the only thing I can think of.

Thanks for the help. I started using Audacity but I'm running into a problem. I was able to copy one of the tracks to the end of the first track, but when I got to copy a third track to the end of that, it won't let me. Does audacity have a certain capacity of music it can hold?

I'm going to try saving my file, reopening it and seeing if it works then.

For some reason, saving the project and reopening it allowed me to past another track on the end. No clue why, but I got it to work.[/i]
