I was looking at an E-bay listing where they had a tuba with a compensating valve. I wanted to ask what does this valve do. Would this be the same as a 4th valve?

Re: Compensating valve
It compensates the seller for the time needed to put a useless half-step valve on an otherwise non-descript tuba...Hank74 wrote:a tuba with a compensating valve
