Gregory Posvistak is listed as the tuba player on an RCA Red Seal recording made in 1964 with Van Cliburn conducting the Interlochen Youth Orchestra.
Usually we recognize names in our relatively small circle of tubists. Did Mr. Posvistak stay with the tuba or pursue another career?
(BTW, in that same orchestra was Loren Marsteller, who later became principal trombone of the Calgary Philharmonic; Philip Swanson, who became the principal trombone in the Miami Philharmonic and has also performed with the Boston Symphony and Boston Pops; and Tom Bacon, horn, who became a member of Summit Brass and the St. Louis Brass Quintet.)
