How do you know that you're NOT supposed to play with different tempi, styles and dynamics?
Ain't modern music grand?

Hi. I thought the same thing when I first bought it (and listened to the Baadsvik recording of it). If you read the short bio on the back of the piano part the last sentence reads "His compositional style is characterized by a quest for what is simple and honest, and a desire to allow the interpreter a large amount of interpretative freedom." Maybe it's not editing errors after all...just think of it as enough ink to get you through, but not get in the way.

Hi Tubazar,
Since I own the publishing company Ovation AS that is printing this piece available I feel obligated to answer this. Plau first made the string edition then the piano reduction. This was also the order in which the printed versions where made. What everyone encounters when making printed versions from manuscripts is that very often the manuscript contains lots of errors and lacks consistency. This put a great deal of responsibility on the person interpreting it. In the case with the string parts this person was me. I telephoned Plau whenever I couldn’t figure out what he meant, or if articulations, slurs, dynamics etc was not present. He was an old man and exactly as it says in his bio he was very reluctant to give directions. “Find out yourselfâ€

Interesting...this is good to know especially when you will begin to collaborate with a pianist or string ensemble. Is there any more biographical information about Mr. Plau then what is on the cover of this piece? Thanks for the info!!
