not exactly a slap disco sonata, but "Teen Town" by Jaco Pastorious is certainly a funky tour de force, and a real gas to play on tuba. (let alone on bass) :shock: . It can be heard on the Weather Report album "Heavy Weather" and transcriptions are readily available on the web. If it's for a recital, it shouldn't be too hard to arrange a simple piano accompaniment (unless steel drums are available) but there's always the copyright issue.

Oh my goodness, THAT would be a monster on tuba! If someone can pull this off, note for note, no overdubs (just like Victor), I want to hear a recording.
