not exactly a slap disco sonata, but "Teen Town" by Jaco Pastorious is certainly a funky tour de force, and a real gas to play on tuba. (let alone on bass) . It can be heard on the Weather Report album "Heavy Weather" and transcriptions are readily available on the web. If it's for a recital, it shouldn't be too hard to arrange a simple piano accompaniment (unless steel drums are available) but there's always the copyright issue.
