Would Mr. Baadsvik be better at "Orchestral Excerpts For Tuba" than Mr. Pokorny would be at "Tuba Carnival"?

Nah, I know that both of these guys are monsters at "playing the tuba". I don't think that they only do one thing...I love listening to my copy of "Big Boy", which is a very soloistic CD.

Maybe I should ask who's version of "The Winter" do you like better...Christian Lindberg or Oystein Baadsvik? This is a musically productive question. One is exactly like the original violin part, (and on a TROMBONE), and the other is...faster, or whatever might make it a legitimate topic. Both are superb and constanly on my playlist.

I think I know where the original post is coming from. Everyone seems to jump at everything around here. I would have loved to have heard Roger Bobo record an all transcription CD ala Pat Sheridan. I know he played a bunch of the violin solos (maybe not that much in public).

I'd love also have Excerpt CD"S from the likes of Michael Lind and John Fletcher.

I'm thankfull for everything Pokorny puts out. The new Michael Davis book is fantastic just to hear how much better his fundamentals are than 99% of other brass players.
