M&M? Is yours the plain, peanut, or the new almond? And my favorite color is blue.
For those loose screws, get thee to an auto parts store and ask them for some BLUE Loctite, no. 242:r8chl wrote:My husband surprised me this year with a brand spankin' new "M&M" euphonium. It looks like Chinese copy of a Cerveny or Miraphone oval euph with 4 rotors. The tone color isn't bad, the intonation is manageable, but I have two problems with the thing. First, I've been playing it for about six weeks and the mouthpiece that came with it is pitted. I didn't drop it or anything, although I am a bit of a klutz. (Incidentally, the finish on the valves is also already showing my fingerprints. And good enough to send in for my school fingerprinting at that!) Losing use of this mouthpiece isn't too troubling, except that I can't find another to fit the reciever. Any suggestions there?
Also, the screws that hold the triggers on the rotors keep coming loose while playing, and I haven't found how to replace them yet from the seller. I don't expect to keep this in playing condition forever, but would like to make it last until the two of us are a little more financially stable, or until someone buys our one excess ancient sousa. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
