TONY CLEMENTS' MP'S

Post by DonnieMac »

Yeah, I have 2 of those both the orchestral version. The first one I got for a Walter Nirschl EEb that needed reinforcement on the fundamental. On a Spectrogram you coulld see a prominent Bb with a much smaller peak at the EEb below, the horn's fundamental. The Clement's MP helps a lot.
The second one goes with a 5/4 Rudi CC. The receiver here has a French taper and the I.D. is large so the MP shank is being bushed up a few 0.001.
I transitioned into the Clements' MP from Doug Elliott MP's. For the Rudii I was using a TU-132 rim, a TU-R cup and an R-5 shank. The drill hole in the Clementa' MP is a bit larger than for the Elliott but the backbore taper seems very similar.
For the Nirschl I was using a Doug Elliott TU-130 or 132 rim, a TU-P cup and a P-5 shank. With the Clements' MP I make a sound with more fundamental in the tone, I think.javascript:emoticon(':D')

Size wise, what are they comparable to?

I don't know anything about DE pieces. And is the Orchestral that much bigger than the ensemble?
