The Texas Music Educators Association Convention is February 14-17, 2007 at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio. Because of the huge size of this convention compared to other states' conventions (remember, everything in Texas is BIG), many of the tuba vendors have displays there, and there are tuba-related presentations.

The 2007 South Central Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference will be held at the University of Texas at Austin March 30-31.

You can go to UNT tuba departmental meetings at noon every Tuesday during the school year.

 - probably not what you had in mind, but it's something.

yeah, i was going to go to the tmea convention...but i would of had to miss school, i live 5 hours away
Hey, it's Texas. Everybody drives five hours. At least. It's five and a half from Midland, where I taught band for three years, and it's almost nine from Amarillo, and I made that drive twice a year for six years. Do youself a favor: get the time off of school and drive the distance. It's well worth it. In fact, I'm planning on making the drive from Athens this year to make it to TMEA.....hope to see some of you there!

There will be a regional ITEA (International Tuba Euphonium Association) conference in Austin at the University of Texas on March 30 and 31. This will be a good opportunity to experience a "Texas Tuba Convention thing."
