Conn Helleberg?

I have found a mp that looks like a Conn H, (flat rim and a sharper bite, shape, etc...), but is only stamped with the word Helleberg. I assume current Conn H's are stamped with "Conn Helleberg", so...

Is this a real Conn Helleberg, or someone else's Helleberg?

Any ideas?

The ones that I'm aware of all have the maker stamped, too ie:

Conn - Helleberg
Sear - Helleberg

Similar question posed a couple months back:

Though not the same question, unless yours is actually HELLEBERG (all upper case), or his is actually Helleberg.

Yep, all UPPER CASE.

UMI dropped the Conn name a couple years ago (at least for a time - not sure if this is still the case) and just stamped them Helleberg.

Damn. More proof the Cyborg will cut a cost anyway possible, even if it's two minutes' of labor on a stamping block!

The 7B I purchased a couple months ago is marked only "HELLEBERG". Was packaged in a UMI box.

Ouch! Nothing about "7B" (or "S", in the other case?)

The other weird thing, in my view, is that they have in the somewhat recent past been known to make something like the popular old Conn 2, but don't seem to market it for normal retail. (Looks from the outside a little like a classic Denis Wick, but from the rim in, it's supposed to be a Conn 2.)

It's called a 1792-2. It's one of my favorites.
Find it here. This is the only place I've found that sells it.

Isn't that just the old-style UMI? A few years ago, Mouthpiece Express was clearing out their old stock of them (as well as other UMI models). I picked up a bunch for the local high school for something like $15 the each. Still have a King 7B that looks like that.

I don't have any references for my assertion that it's closely related to the Conn 2. Maybe it doesn't matter - given that the 2 was made for a while and for all I know may have varied a little in bore size etc. over that time, any roughly similar mouthpiece could claim to be the current heir to the Conn 2. The Conn 7B is somewhat like the 2 with a different rim, right?

The one mouthpiece I've seen in person with that exterior came with the owner's King 2341.
