Monette differences?

Does anybody know if Prana models are marked as such?
How can you tell the difference between the Pranas and the older style (is there any difference?!?)?

I've got a 98 which is pretty new. Same profile as the one pictured here:

My 94F is older and has a more severe jump in bore at the end of the shank than the 98. The 94F also has a flat external profile (90degrees) from the shank into the cup.

Hope this makes sense to somebody...

Cheers!

I've actually gotten to try the Prana model right next to my current regular model 98. The outside of the prana cup under the rim had a brush effect (satin gold, whatever you want to call it). They did some modifying to the backbore as well making it larger than the older models. I didn't like it because it didn't center as well.

As for the 94F, mine has the same shape to it in the cup. Frankly it doesn't bother me, they're still the best mouthpieces currently made.

Regards,

Billy.

I feel that the Prana 98 projects slightly more than the old version,(which maybe due to the bigger backbore?)
But as said before it does not center aswell.

Now i don't know about the best mouthpieces currently made but they are certainly a joy to play.

Monette is now offering Prana series for a "special price" which is $350- same as the standard line.
