Anything set these bags apart from the rest, Roger? Price? Build? Convenience of loading/unloading? Level of protection? Mine (Pro-Tec) will need to be replaced in the near future, so I am always interested in something better for replacement. Thanks!

My friend who played in a youth orchestra with me a few years ago had a mirafone bag. It was leather or a leather like material, no padding, and a drawstring at the bell. Is that what these are as well?

The new gig bag is a very attractive Miraphone blue with the Miraphone logo on the side. It is either a nylon or corduro fabric, can't remember, top loading, well padded, with a carbon fiber insert built into the top lid which protects the bell. These are being made in sizes to fit all current Miraphone model tubas. It is definitely NOT one of the old imitation leather, draw string bags. The new bag is very well built with back pack straps. I believe the price will be in the $300 range or what ever you can negotiate with your favorite tuba gig bag salesman. Roger Lewis or Matt Walters would be better qualified to answer that question.
The price....

will be about $290 for these great gig bags. They have an extra large pouch on them for carrying music; a clip strap between the two shoulder straps to keep them from sliding down if you are wearing a winter coat; a single shoulder strap as well as handles. They appear to have excellent padding and, as Richard mentioned, a great bell protector built into the top of the bag. They are a top loading codura bag and I think they are well worth the price.
