I think Boston College just diminished the integrity of their institution!

Well composed shot and a beautiful horn. I may make it my wallpaper!

Jobey,
you may know, that I some time ago communicated with your contact person, who happened also to be your trombone player.
I told him, that I never ever had heard as fine a blend between a horn, a trombone, and a tuba as in the sound samples up on your site at that time. Intonation, sound, phrasing. Everything was just so well co-ordinated.
I was less happy with the balance between your trumpets. Not the usual promlem of a trumpet player overblowing.
I was very happy with your playing on the B&S F-tuba. And quite sad, when I heard, that it had been damaged during the flight to France.
The photo must show you at the right side. The resolution is a bit too small for me, but my immediate guess is that you are playing a piston F. And I would not be surprised, if it is a Yamaha 822. Is that your new instrument?
Your college does not appear to run out of spare water/spit valves anytime soon.

Ok...let's play a game: What kind of horn am I playing on the fountain? My students, please keep quiet on this one. Here's a clue: I am 5' 10.5" tall and weigh about 225...not a small guy, so it's probably not a Yamaha F tuba. By the way, you will never see me with a Yamaha...no offense to anyone, just not my sound concept. By the way, Klaus, I appreciate the complement to our low trio, but think my trumpets in Triton are two of the best in the world! If I had to do 1/2 of what they do...uftah! jobey

Jobey,Klauss is quite well versed in makes and models of tubas.I'll bet he stumbled on a picture of you with your Gronitz f on your website, which could be confused with a yfb822.I agree with Klauss on your sound on your old Symphonie, and I'll add the sound on your Alex CC on the Tomasi clip.

Okay, here we go:
1. PCK is correct.
2. Mike...no pics of me on the website with my Gronitz F...looks like Klaus simply thought I was a safety, not a fullback/linebacker in high school (I'll take it as a compliment...I did lose about 15 lbs this summer).
3. Doc...careful, Shelagh might break your nose...she threatened my father in France!!
4. Harold...I was speaking of the pic. My duties at Boston College:
Artist-in-Residence
Adjunct Professor of Music
Tuba & Euphonium Instructor
Tuba Ensemble Director
Chamber Music Coach
Low Brass Instructor of BC Marching Band

I never had a Gronitz in my hands, but was very close to buying a slightly used huge BBb with 4FP at a really good price. The catch was that I should fetch it in Germany. I do not travel anymore.

I guess that this tells something about body proportions. But I am ignorant about the functions of the various players of a football team.
If you are big, what is then the category of your trombone player?

With all these guys hanging around she probably will be well off with an ability to defend herself!
I am not beyond understanding Doc’s outings. But then I rather would ask, if she can cook.
About Yamaha: I haven’t liked any of their Eb and BBb tubas. And I do not play F and CC.
However: what I have heard Carol Jantsch do on her YCB-822 makes it terribly hard for me to dismiss that model as being an irrelevant choice.
