Many years ago I was given a tuba solo w/ band acc. entitled "Pride of America" by L.O de Witt (copyright 1895). The solo is dedicated to "Mr. Eldon Baker, Premier Tuba Soloist of America". Can anyone shed light as to who this is? I seem to have missed him!

I've seen the name in the Sousa Band rosters of that era.

This one says he was a "baritone" in 1892:
