I agree but other than the tubing, it looks physically like a euph still.


EDIT : o yeah, and I dont know much other than Bb horns but im guessing the tubing looks so different because it's in C

Because it's in C, a little. Looks different mainly because it has only three valves.

I never played one of those.

Except for orchestral C trumpets (Bach 180L239S, and others) and C or CC tubas (French Cousenon 6-valve, modern CC's and others) most "C" instruments have or had as their primary target church bands playing out of hymnals so they did not have to transpose or other amateur groups playing with piano and/or vocals. The most famous (or infamous, depending on your point of view!) the "C melody saxophone." This, of course, leads up to the famous joke:

How many C melody saxophone/C euph/C (fill in the gap except for the above) players can you fit in a phone booth? Answer: all of them.
