I agree. If I eat too much, I get a little food trying to get back out about halfway through the first tune!

The tubas at my school don't do anything special before a concert. But the trombones in the jazz band usually go out for a slushie before a concert. That, and we all put our hands together and yell, "Bone Time!" before heading on stage, (this is especially great, seeing as the backstage is in almost full view of the audience.)

Same here -- had a cheeseburger try to escape during the first half of a band concert once (not fun! ). Afterward, though, I'm usually famished ...

Well - this Tuba player in the U.K. goes for a Curry after the gig - too much festering wind when you go beforehand

At marching band comps we usally get a couple dozen krispy kreme donuts for the bus ride home, and before jazz band concerts we always hit the chineese buffet. either way I end up taking a whole bunch of Tums or Rolaids after.

I love to play a party with a buffet. Once the "program" gets going and the band must break is a good a time as any for us to hit the buffet and then line up at the bar.
After playing rock from 9-2 or 9-3 A.M. on a weekend night we all seem to crave greasy eggs, grits, hashbrowns and coffee to chase all that liquor down.
