Just digging a fairly recent eBuy purchase - a reel-to-reel tape of "Lavalle in HI-FI", with Joe Tarto on tuba.
For "When Yuba Plays The Rhumba On The Tuba" Joe plays the piece in unison with Harvey Phillips. Does anyone know how this particular session came about?

I think I have the answer, but I will check with Mr. Phillips for details. Both Tarto and Phillips played in the Band of America, conducted by Paul Lavalle.
