While The Planets is in GORDON Cherry's collection, the tenor tuba part is in treble clef, not transposed to bass.

While on the subject of The Planets, Holst wrote this before Pluto was discovered so there is no Pluto movememt. Now they say Pluto is not a planet! For 75 or so years, The Planets was missing a movement - now it's not.

Isn't that progress!!!!

No, I'd just echo that Holst was ahead of his time!

I think most people know that he didn't write anything for Pluto, but I doubt many people know that someone else did. :!: :?:

Holst's inspiration for The Planets was the planets of astrology, not astronomy. Pluto is not visible to the naked eye from Earth and was never a part of the astrological planets, so there was never a need for a Pluto movement.

Holst was quite the mystic, indeed!
