WTB Recording Bell for old king 1240 tuba

Post by WilliamVance »

Hey Guys,

If any one out there has an old King 1240/1 recording (bell-front) bell that you would like to part with please send me an e-mail. I really want to try one out with my horn. I have an old 1240 with the upright bell, but last week at our first concert in the park I noticed that my sound was bouncing right back at me since the ceiling in the mobile show stage we perform on is so low in the back where the tubas sit. I really think the forward projection of the recording bell would help me out. If anyone has had a similar experience, please pass along what you think.

I don't know if it is the right size, but there is a recording bell for a Besson, on Ebay (with 11 hours to go):

I believe that I have what you want. Are you looking for brass lacqued or silver plated finish? I need to know the diameter of the opening of the bell collar or collar reciever. I have a great stock of older tuba parts.
