Like many members of this forum I have tried many different mouthpieces, including stainless steel and titanium, with most being discarded to the "not used" shelf after an initial trial.

However, I recently bought a Mike Finn MF2 and find it by far the best mouthpiece I have yet found. It really opens out the low register and improves the intonation of my Neptune CC, while when I first tried it on my Besson Eb it was a case of WOW - it sounded so much bigger with a lovely rounded sound!

I know everyone has their own preferences, but I would congratulate Mr. Finn on a really excellent mouthpiece which will certainly not be joining my "not used" shelf.

After 15 years of use, my old trusty Bach 24AW can now go into retirement!

I concur wholeheartedly. I've also gone through a large variety of mouthpieces and settled on an MF2 and MF 4 for my Besson 982 and 981. I swap them out based on venue. They really bring these horns alive.

If I remember correctly, Mike Finn says the inspiration for his mouthpieces is the old King 26, also a classic mouthpiece. I'm glad to see they work well on a Besson Eb. Does anybody have any experience with one on a Besson BBb?

i too play a mike finn 2 on my king 2341
the intonation on it is great and the rim is very comfortable for me.

I use the MF3-H on my Miraphone 186. I like it a lot!

Yes, I use an MF3 on my Besson 992 and 994 BBb's and have for 3 years now. Excellent in every situation, from 10 piece to brass band, orchestra and Big Band. I've sold my others!

I own a MF3H and 4 and I absolutely love both mouthpieces. I am waiting for Mike to make me a MF4H, as I'd love that even more. Hear to sharp rims!

I second Andy's endorsement of the MF3H. It has been a great mouthpiece for me.
