I've created a list of the 30 most common excerpts asked on all the lists I could find (which was about 20). I was wondering if you guys could do me a favour and look over the list and see if there are any glaring omissions or anomalies. I'm looking to make a list (and a corresponding booklet for myself) of excerpts I should "keep under my belt". The list for them all totals about 63 different excerpts, only 41 of them were asked more then once, and 33 of them asked more then twice. This is why I figured 30 would be a good number. If there are any I'm missing or any that really don't appear very often, please let me know. Also, have any solos other then Strauss 1 and Vaughan Williams been asked on any major auditions recently? Thanks for your help.

Ted Cox had an article published in the tuba journal a few years back discussing the audition process. I want to say 2000 maybe? He broke it down to an A list,B list, etc and gave percentages.

example:

Meistersinger-A list, 100% of the auditions polled
Lohengrin-B list, 35% of the auditions

Are tuba journals available online that far back? If not, I might be able to find a copy of the article somewhere.

I believe Alex's format(above) would be more in line with tradition.
