If that is the Jennifer Higdon work that I am thinking of, it is on an album called "Rainbow Body." Bob Spano conducting Atlanta, I believe. A very fine album and I do have it.

One of her pieces (Higdon's Concerto for Orchestra I believe) was performed by the NC Symphony last season. Soooo beautiful! Each of the sections get a voice in the concerto. I attended the pre-show lecture with the Composer which gave a nice set-up for the piece.

That concert inspired me to go buy some CD's.

I have the CD mentioned above and I recomend it very much so.

Funny you should mention she is a BGSU grad (Go Falcons!)

When I was an undergrad at BGSU we recorded this piece. It is available on Albany Records I believe. This CD is also of interest to tubists, Velvet Brown recorded the John Williams Tuba Concerto on this album.

Several years later I finally got to listen to the CD, the quality was ok, not bad. Certainly a cool piece!
