Anyone familiar with this piece? I just got it from John Griffiths, and he played the 2nd movement for me in his studio with CD accompaniment. What a gorgeous piece of music! John played it beautifly, playing some parts up the octave to a Bb over middle C... and sounded like heaven! Barbara York is also going to release a "Griffiths" edition of this work because she liked his interpretation of it so much. If you are unfamiliar with this piece, I highly recommend looking for it.

The Griffiths' version will be avlailable in the next couple of weeks. There are embellishments to the orginal solo part throughout. I will be shipping out the original Concerto now (see below) and will follow up all orders with a copy of John's part when it is completed.

Michael Fischer will be releasing a recording of the Concerto and several other pieces by Barbara York in the very near future. One of the other pieces on the CD is Directions which can also be found on the Cimarron Music Press site.

Both are both very lyrical and playable on either C, F or Eb Tuba. There are a few places that are a little high on C, but nothing way over the top.
