But why do all that scrubbing if you can get something that will easily get into the tight corners?

Personally, I like 3M Tarni Shield. Non-abrasive, and cleans up with water.

If it's really grungy, this works great and keeps it shiny for a long time:

With all due respect, the reason I originally posted my response (hopefully not yet taken literally ;) ) was because this very subject has been beaten to death on TubeNet several times in just the last couple of weeks.

Sure, Marty, but what else are we going to talk about?
  • BBb vs CC?
  • How a Yamaha YBB-105 compares to a Gronitz PCK?
  • Does the Haydn Symphony No. 102 have a tuba part?
  • Is bare brass better than lacquer better than silver?
  • What kind of mouthpiece works best for a Schickelgruber BBb Kaiser?
  • Hetmans vs. goose grease for valve lube?
  • ...

Maybe if he had, he wouldn't have had to write so many searching for the right sound!

I prefer the Hagerty's spray, it gets between the valves nicely.

Doesn't matter WHAT you use, it always seems better with a 7% solution

Id watch out, pick out the idiots in the forum first before you take their advice literally, regardless how abstract or logical their statements seem. One question, with spray on polish, is any wiping required, like the ''cream''?

A search reveals there has never been a discussion on home remedies for toenail fungus. Anyone? Hmmmmm? I'll bet we could post some great pictures.

You spray it on let it dry then wipe it off. OR they say you can wash it off too. Which ever way you go it doesn't require much rubbing. Spray Hagerty is not cheap. I use the non-spray on most of the tuba and save the spray for hard to get to places.

Soak 'em in a hot solution of zinc sulfate. It kills the moss on my roof. :P

You have to sand paper the nails down first, get them thin so the bug killer can penetrate.

High dosage gamma rays work reasonably well too.

A coat of plain paste wax might work just as well. Or perhaps a spritz of Pledge furniture spray.
