Just wondering... do other brass players make frankenhorns like this, or is this practice just a tuba thing?

Lessee--trombone players routinely pair their favorite slide with their (different) favorite bell. Horn players must trade bells like marbles, if even non-equipment-freaks like Mary Ann have done it.
