I have a student that has been trying to obtain the NJMEA music for a few weeks. They ordered it from JW Pepper, only to find that it is on back order. The audition is next month and I need to get him the piece ASAP.
If someone would be willing to scan and email that would be fantastic!

The info is:

Prelude,Variations,Chorale and Fugue
Mueller
Edition Musicus Inc.

The music has been purchased by the student, it is simply a matter of availability at the moment.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

I'm not sure where in Jersey you are from, but I was in Victor's House of Music on route 17 North in Paramus, and I saw 2-3 copies of this piece in the drawer marked Allstate solos. If you are in the area, you should get there to pick up the piece and cancel the one on order.

Actually, about recycling, if you haven't noticed, the NJ All-state System is a repeating 4 year cycle of the same 4 solos. Not something that I've heard officially, just somewhat of an observation. Yes I am a genius(just kidding, I do hope someone else realized this if this is the case).
I can't remember the order and I don't know how long it's been going on, but I think it is...

Hartley-Suite for Unaccompanied Tuba
Haddad-Suite for Tuba
Frackenpohl(sp?)-Variations on "Cobber's Bench"
Muller-Intro, Chorale, Variations, and Fugue

Same 4 pieces every 4 years so no one sees it twice during their time in high school.

They also used the old Harold Walters "Tarantella" for auditions back in the early '80s. And there was one year in the '90s when they picked something truly bizarre that was never used again. Can't remember what it was-not a bad piece, just inappropriate for high school auditions.
