Great experience

I thought I would write down on here about a great expereience I had last night. The United States Air Force Band of Mid-America was a guest at my school, and as a part of the show, some students, (including me,) were allowed to play on a song. It was great hearing the band play, and it was even better palying with them. The whole band was nice, but this was especially so with the two tubists, SSgt David Hartung and SSgt Matt Kuebler. Overall, it was a blast. It felt great to listen to and play in a group that was both very musical and actually in-tune! I have thought a little about the service bands as a future goal, but from what I saw last night, I'm definitely going to give that goal some consideration.
Thanks,
Aaron Hynds

Thats great you had an opportunity that wonderful! Its always great to be embraced by such a talented group. It not only makes your day, but your week or even a much longer period. Just to clarify, by saying from what you saw last night, youre going to think about it more, you mean more seriously right? It could also come across as something bad happening......
anyway, Congrats!

Tubafatness, you will never forget last night. I hope it was just the first of many performances that truly inspire you.
The very best part of performing is playing with reallly talented folks. They lift you up and take you along with them and suddenly you are playing things you didn't know you were capable of. (dangled participle)
Another fun thing is when you stumble onto a really great audience.
All-of-a-sudden, there is a great two-way communication between you and your audience. They give you energy as well as feedback and you simply can't do enough to please them. You hope the night never ends and you keep thinking of great tunes they will like.
An outstanding audience will sustain you for a dozen or so regular gigs where the crowd walks in bored and you are desparately seeking the one song that will hit a home run with them.
The best band I ever played with was not so good technically, but they were the kind of people that could rise to the occasion. They could get up and cook for a crowd of two because they remembered the weekend nights when beer flowed like wine and the ladies didn't wear all that much.

I meant "thinking about it" in a good way. Seeing how much fun they all had playing music gave me a very good impression of what a job in a service band could be like. Now, I just need to get a lot better as a player and get in better shape!
