Teaching Air Cadets

I've taught Air Cadets for a number of years in Winnipeg. I would suggest making some hand outs for your students which could include warm-ups, long tone exercises, scale patterns etc. Photocopy a bunch before you go. Most of the students there will be at a beginner level, and will only be armed with some kind of band class book, and a few beginner solo pieces. Concentrate on sound production and proper technique. They will also need help memorizing scales. Some of them may never have had instruction on proper instrument handling and basic maintenance, so I would go over that in the first lesson as well.
