Lutoslawski - Concerto for Orchestra

I have just heard that I will get to play Lutoslawski Concerto for Orchestra later this month - a work entirely unknown to me.

Has anyone here played it? If so what is it like?

It's not a big deal. There is a long muted sction, so spend some time with your mute and a tuner, but otherwise the piece is pretty straight forward.

Thanks. Useful to know to take a mute - not something I routinely carry around :wink:

We forgot to mention that there is a little muted solo close to the end of the second movement. Guess Jonathan found out, eh. John

I did - I liked it! :) Somewhat reminded me of Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique
