Spirometer?

Actually, unless there is a way someone knows that I could use a spirometer, I don't really want to know about them. I'm curious about my vital capacity, so I want to find out a way to measure it without using a spirometer. I know breathing bags can give an estimate. Any better, cheap ways to measure vital capacity?

Try timing yourself on length of a known note with a known mouthpiece and horn. After all, that (and increasing that) is what's REALLY important anyway, isn't it?

Your family practice doctor (my wife is one) probably has a digital spirometer with a print out capability. Ask about it when you make your next check-up appointment. Takes about 3 minutes. We use them before abd after we start our intense - before school - breathing programs to chart my students progress.

Try one of the breathing bags for a start.

Sean suggests buying Christmas gifts from the sponsors so this would be a good place to start before investing in a digital spirometer. If you won't use the bag for a while you probably won't use the digital spirometer.
