hey, this for those of you who have L.A. Phil's recording of "The Planets" with Zubin Mehta (1975?).


I was listening to "Saturn" and right at 5:58 I think there's a really obvious splice when the brass enters with a motive. Not that I have a problem with it, just wondering if I'm hearing correctly and if so, if anyone knows anything else about this recording.

I have a recording of L.A. with Mehta from around that time (on vinyl) playing the 1812, where there is definitely some altering in the mix toward the end. It suddenly gets louder and brighter. What were they thinking with these?
