CSO Tchaikovsky and Elgar on Youtube.com

I bumped into two great CSO performances on YouTube.

The CSO under Barenboim, opening night of Carnegie Hall in 1997. YouTube has the 1st and last mvts of Tchaikovsky 4 -- the first mvt is in two sections but complete. Gene sounds fantastic, as does the rest of the orchestra.

Also there is "Nimrod" from Enigma Vars, performed in memory of Sir Georg Solti who had passed away before this concert.

Just go to YouTube and search for Chicago Symphony -- you'll find these. Highly recommended.

Enjoy!

When YouTube begins offering CD-quality stereo/multi-channel sound along with the video--it will be fabulous for recordings like these CSO performances.

If one wanted to obtain these performances legally, what are the DVD titles/catalog numbers/label by which they can be identified?
