Stolen PT88 mouthpiece at MidWest....

If one of your students shows up with a "new" used PT88 mouthpiece, let me know. I had mine out, sitting by one of the tubas at the Miraphone Booth at Midwest, and we got swamped with people for about an hour. When I turned back to get my mouthpiece - it was gone. I hope some little bastard burns in hell for that.

My great thanks to the folks from Custom Music who provided me with a replacement one. I needed it for the concert I had to play the next day.

Roger

Sorry......................

Roger,

I believe I was standing at the Mirafone booth about the time you discovered that your mouthpiece was missing. I did look around to see if I could see something obvious, but to no avail.

It does ruin a great time when someone dishonest does something like this.

It was also good to see you at the Custom booth when you came by to ask about the mouthpiece. It was at the same time that a young lady from Philadelphia came by and tried some horns. It was my pleasure to hear her play and notice how she tries out a horn. I got to tell her how her fame had helped me get three new young girls as tuba players in my band program.

This also says something to the class that was shown between you with Mirafone and the Custom representatives.

Sorry for the loss. If this helps, I got to spend Thursday afternoon in the emergency room at Northwestern Medical Center.

What were you emerging from? (Emergene room?)

Hope everything was okay!!

This does pose a problem when you go to conferences. So many people are often packed in tiny spaces. The things we use and enjoy in our professions on a daily basis are already expensive enough without people going around stealing stuff, DRIVING UP COSTS!! Boo to stealers!

But, what should Roger do when / if he catches the perp?

Here's one of my favorite lines:
Dennis Farina as Las Vegas mobster Jimmy Serrano in Midnight Run (1988). "I came here to tell you two things: Number One is that you're going to die tonight. Number Two is I'm going to go home, I'm going to have a nice hot meal, I going to find your wife (or insert mom here) . . . and I'm going to kill her too . . . ."

Maybe it's in a lacquer Gronitz now...

And if we find the two together, the perp will find out what it means to have a tuba player in every state and probably in every country, too
