What's the inscription on the bell? If it's a Grand Rapids model, it should say something like "J. W. York and Son(s), Grand Rapids, Mich" on it. For a time, "German" Yorks were produced (inscription may be something like "York Master"); some are good, some aren't, but they're not "real" Yorks.

How old is it? I've heard tell that the "York" name is being used again, simply as a brand.

A distant possibility is that It's a Conn (Abilene) from 1969 body with a York bell. :?: :?: :?:
