After an incredibly successful 2006 festival, I would like to invite all high school/middle school students aged 13-18 to consider the Hartwick College Summer Music Festival! It's an experience you will cherish for years to come!

Just imagine:

1. performing with faculty, counselors (all college music majors) and other talented students in a variety of settings such as orchestra, wind ensemble, jazz ensemble/combos and chamber groups

2. studying with a distinguished faculty of professional musicians from all over the world (Canadian Brass founder Fred Mills will join us, for one)

3. attending masterclasses by world-renowned musicians

4. taking specialized courses in conducting, arranging, improvisation, etc.

The festival is broken into two 2-week sessions: July 1-15 and July 15-29. Attend one or both sessions!

The 2007 brass faculty will include:

Brian Turnmire, trumpet - U.S. Marine Band "President's Own"
Karl Sweedy, trumpet - U.S. Air Force Band
William Adcock, trumpet - U.S. Air Force Band
Mauricio Soto, horn - National Symphony of Mexico
Iain Hunter, trombone - National Symphony of Mexico, Queretaro
Gary Press, tuba/wind ensemble conductor - NY Freelance Musician
Willie Clark, tuba - U.S. Air Force Ceremonial Band

Please visit the Hartwick College Summer Music Festival website for more information and to start your application now or contact me directly at tubapress@gmail.com. Scholarship money is available.

Thanks!

A special note: this summer we will welcome special guest artist Fred Mills. Fred was one of the founding members of the trailblazing Canadian Brass and is one of the most respected trumpet players in the world. He currently teaches at University of Georgia.

There is still scholarship money available, so send your applications now before the $$ is spoken for!

Thanks!
