Hey folks,

I am looking for any recomendations of REALLY GOOD trios, that are written for any combination of tubas/euphoniums. Preferably with at least one part, meant for contrabass tuba.

What are your favorites?

They sound great! (Nice playing, by the way!) Are they available commercially?

The Loch Lommond arrangement got me to thinking about investigating the trombone trio literature. I have found that, in quartets, the trombone 1 part can get pretty high. Does anyone have experience with other trombone trios that work well for E/E/T, or E/T/T?

Not being an expert in the tuba/two-euph repertoire, I was going to leave the answering to those who are. Although it's still a little soon to judge how the response will be, I'll go ahead and submit this (see below) for your perusal. In its current form for bass, tenor, and alto recorders, the parts range approximately an octave and half: from a to e-flat for bass, e to a-flat for tenor, and a to e-flat for alto. These are within the comfort ranges for the recorders that play those parts.

The bass line would fit OK on tuba without modification. The middle part would put the 2nd euph in its low-ish end (but not terribly so). If there is avid interest in the trio, it's fairly simple to re-score the music for other instruments, transposing if necessary. Then, I assume, I could post it on Finale Showcase.

When I wrote it, I had it in mind that I would like to hear it as a brass trio one of these days if such a trio should ever come along who could play it well and be so gracious as to make a good recording of it.

The ending is a little different. I was originally going to put a typical, standard ending on it, but then thought .... Naahhh.

Then, of course, there is always the possibility of transcribing the Bach organ trio sonatas. You did say REALLY GOOD!
