Tara Davis, an excellent young euphonium player, was killed yesterday in a car accident. She was 24 years old, and pretty much one of the nicest people and one of the hardest workers you could ever hope to meet.

Tara did her bachelor's degree at Northwestern, her master's at Arizona State, and had recently won the 1st Baritone chair in the River City Brass Band. I think I can speak for everyone who's ever worked with her when I say that she will be greatly missed.

Please keep Tara's family in your thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. That is so unfortunate.

I know I speak for every other member of the River City Brass Band when I say that Tara will be sorely missed. We have all been shocked by this horrible tragedy. She was a wonderful person and a great friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Although I never met her, this is still very sad news. It sounds like our world has lost an excellent player and a very wonderful human being.

Very sad, indeed. Tara was a delightful person with a great attitude. I'm sure that she will be missed by all who knew her.

This is both tragic and sobering. Carpe Diem.

I played with Tara in the Disney band in LA and I must say this indeed a tragedy. She was one of the nicest, most talented people I have ever been associated with. Please keep her family in your prayers.

Although I never got to become a colleague of Tara, every occasion I spent time with her was a joy. She was such a great, warm person with an amazing attitude. She will be missed.

I heard Tara perform in one of Rex Martin's classes at Northwestern U. She was immediately striking as an excellent musician who projected an aura of loving life and the people around her.

Prayers for Tara's family and friends.

What year did she do the Disney band? I didn't know Tara but it's always tough to hear when a someone so young dies like this. I remember when one of my Disney roommates was killed a few years after we did the program. This kind of brings that back a little. My heart goes out to all her friends & family.

Me and James were the tuba players with Tara in the 2002 Disney Band. She was a great player and an even better person. I can't recall one day when she did not have a great attitude or a huge smile on her face. She will be missed greatly.

I was so saddened when I read this that it has taken me several days to be able to post. I met Tara last June and heard her play wonderfully at IWBC. I spoke to her several times there and then again the next week at the Potomac Competition. She was such a nice young lady and had such a promising life ahead of her. She will indeed be greatly missed.

I sat down the row from Tara in the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony in 1998-1999. During last night's performance at Severance Hall, Dr. Gary Ciepluch and the group dedicated a performance of Holsinger's "Ballet Sacra" to Tara's memory.
