The most convenient hotel is the days inn - the web site mentions it.
Certainly not luxurious, but you can walk to the conference from the hotel and skip the vehicle inspection!

There are others in the area, but not many that are cheap.

Tom B. posted the program last year before the conference, maybe that will happen again?

Actually, on the conference website where it mentions lodging, it says that the gate across from the hotel is closed. There is a shuttle, though. I'm not sure if that means the gate is closed permanently or you have to show ID or what - can anyone shed some light?

That gate across from the Days Inn has been closed since 9/11. I know that the shuttle bus is usually on time and easy to get in and out from.

I think it means that it is closed to car traffic. The map does say exit only (I presume cars). Last year you could walk through that gate (showing your ID). Has something changed since then?

I believe that gate will remain closed. The other two are open. Just means you have to drive or take the periodic shuttle. If driving then plan to have your car searched each time.

Try PriceLine. I have gotton the Marriot for around $60.00 for the last 3 years. It is a quite a nice hotel with a wonderful breakfast and a nice restaurant on the roof!

1-2 miles or at most a 10 minute drive.

There is a Sheraton as well that does Priceline. I would shoot for $50.00!
