We all want to think we are unique and special. I think it is true that we are all special, but I also think we are all a whole lot more like each other that we want to admit.

I wear eyeglasses, with somewhat unusual astigmatism correction among other things, and anyone else's eyeglasses sure wouldn't serve very well for me.

I have 11 tuba mouthpieces, that I can think of, and only one would be really a problem. The rest come down to matters of taste. I think the analogy is not well drawn.

Though I wonder how much variation there is among tuba players, as to how far your lips go into the cup, and whether that makes any difference in style preferences like bowl vs. funnel.

Yes, but when you click on the main page, they just have a range of mouthpieces just like any other boutique maker.

Yeah, but they're custom mouthpieces.

Yamaha has a Jim Self mouthpiece (which I like), but it isn't custom. And what the piddly-poop does Jim Self know?

*note: this won't be nearly as funny when I change mouthpieces again.
