Roger is picking up the slack from WWBW with his new store, tubadome, soon to have its own website:

http://www.tubadome.com

When you type in this website now, you get a press release on the M-W website about M-W's "new" three retailers for their "professional" line tubas in the USA. Of course, in addition to Dillon's and Baltimore Brass, Roger is right there smiling large with Gerhard Meinl.

I find the wording of MW's press release curious. Is their view that BBb tubas are not "professional"? If so, how would they classify the "Fafner" models?

I'm very happy for Roger and trust that his reputation for honesty and good customer service will serve him well in this endeavor. I must assume, however, that he will be selling more than just MW "prfessional" tubas at the new tubadome. Running a business with that limited a product line seems akin to opening up a camera shop (remember those?) and selling only high end DSLRs.

I also note that this press release speaks to the future availability of the MW 2011 series (Howard Johnson) tubas. Seems to me that these were supposed to be avaiable last summer. Both Dillon's and WWBW list these in their on-line catalogs but no one has one for sale.

If this is anything like this JA-Music ran company in France http://www.sml-marigaux.com/index.html, they will carry a lot of different manufacturers as well.

I know that this is a good thing for the tuba community, as WW&BW had a lot of inventory for the tuba.

Speaking of which, I finally downloaded my own copy of the tuba bell full of beer picture with the guy looking up with the Cheshire Cat grin, since I can no longer just say, "...and just where is that picture?" anymore and have it show up as if by magic!

Now, if I can only find a BBb 3+1 non-comp top valve horn at a dirt cheap price that I can turn that 4th valve into a beer tap....
