You wouldn't, perchance, be referring to that little known, surreptitious recording of number 2 in a reverberant men's room? Perhaps? I believe there was a lot of work went into that one. A lot of sweaty work. Whoooo!

The new one, "The Big Bottom Band," would have to be my favorite... if I had to choose.

Wade,you are right,of course, but i still think you should own and listen to some recent solo stuff including Pat's for a couple of reasons.Pat is an amazing player who does bring something new to the solo tuba table.His stuff makes me start to believe new things are possible.He is about entertaining and is never high brow-"listen to this avant gard atonal 15 min.tuba solo and if you don't like it,you're an uneducated savage".It's the first time i really thought of an audience of non tubists actually being entetained by a tubist.IMHO, there is very little worthwhile music written for the solo tuba,but the Bach Ave Maria,Danny Boy,Jeanie With the Light Brown Hair,etc. are real opportunities for a tubist to make some music and actually have an audience enjoy it with you..........
