MW "BAER" model at Ft. Myer

Hello Listers,
I just wanted to let you know if you are planning on the ARMY Tuba/Euphonium Convention at Ft. Myer this weekend we will have a handmade MW 6450 "BAER" model CC tuba there. It will be at the Baltimore Brass Co. booth from 1:30 pm until closing on Friday and all day Saturday until about 5pm. Why the shorter hours? I am using it in the orchestra this week as I have since the beginning of 2007. We have played Pictures, Alpine Symphony, Rite of Spring and this week Elgar "Falstaff". The new BAER model is a MUST try. Alan and MW have come up with what I believe to be a unique tuba. It is the first 6/4 CC tuba that I feel has the sound and response of Mr. Jacobs legendary YORK tubas. Amazing response in all dynamics and very quick start to full resonance. It also has the big tone of the York, but also the brightness that gave the York the wonderful solo voice. Intonation is the dead on and it is a very easy tuba to play. The players in the orchestra have really liked my Yorkbrunner for the past 24 years here and one year before in St. Louis. As great as my Hirsbrunner is, this MW Baer tuba is even better. I have brass, woodwind and string players coming back to see what I am playing. They ALL like the BAER even better. So after 25 years I am going to sell my Hirsbrunner (which will also be at Ft Myer) and only play on the Alan Baer MW. If you play the BAER tuba and want to order one I would get on a list at Baltimore Brass Co., Dillon Music or Tubadome with Roger Lewis Since they are handmade it may be awhile before they come here in large numbers. I am out of MW's at the moment so my own MW2145CC tuba w/modifications and MW 2182F tuba will all be down there for people to try.
I look forward to seeing everyone again.
Thank you for listening,
David Fedderly
