So I have been using Altieri Gig-Bags on my F and C but I don't really like the whole two part layout of them, bag and rain cap. I have been thinking of switching to a Dollybag cause I know they offer quite a bit of pertection and the top load is safer and more convinient.

Does anyone have a Dolly? Do you like them?

The general consensus on Dolly Bags is that the plastic inserts they have are excellent, but that they take forever to receive (months and months), and often arrive (brand new) with construction/finishing defects that need to be corrected.

My Dolly bag arrived in less than a week from order, and appears to be fine. Fits my horn (Miraphone 191) perfectly and I even got my choice of colors. Making contact initially was hard, but then I emailed through their Ebay address that was answered right away. A quick phone call about dimensions and the bag arrived faster tan I could have imagined. I went for the side loading option, which has worked well for me. It's not a hard case, but the plastic inserts do protect from casual bumps.

I have a Dolly Bag for my small C, and several other people in my studio have Altieri bags. The difference in protection for the horn is ridiculous. I am amazed at how thin the Altieri bags are. I could never feel safe with my horn in an Altieri bag. Seriously.
