I have an old black cordura Reunion Blues bag that's a bit dingy.
I was googling searching for how to clean it up.
This was the best thing I found:

Does anybody have any tips or tricks on cleaning a cordura bag?

Sounds exactly spot-on to me.()
Upholstery cleaner. Desinged to be just wet enough to clean without saturating everything.

This may be wrong. But I've taken mine to the cleaners.
If you want, I'll ask what they did with it. I know they charged me 8.50 (about double) to do it, but it turned out great and was hassle free. I'm not sure when they cleaned it if they used a different process or if the fee was for the increased size of the item.

In the past, as the owner of a black cordura RB bag, I had great success cleaning it with the upholstery attachment of a steam cleaner (i.e. Rug Doctor, which has cleaners in the fluid). While making sure not to let too much moisture seep into the foam, I always felt the bag looked brand new afterward.
My experiences for what it's worth...
