Metronome

Can anyone recommend a good metronome that fits all of the following criteria?

- Not too expensive (less than $30)
- extremely LOUD
- you can EASILY set the tempo by individual bpm (not increments of 2 or 4 or whatever)
- did I mention EXTREMELY LOUD?
- did I mention cheap?

McAdams comes to mind, except its WAY too expensive.
I have a most excellent metronome/tuner, but its a little on the soft side, and you can only set it in increments (unless you manually tap the EXACT tempo, but that takes too long and is usually frustrating when you keep tapping one above or one below).

Thanks,
Steve

Get a cheap (or expensive) metronome, run the output through a boom box till your ears bleed.

A Boss Dr. Beat DB-88 wired up in such a manner will clear a building in nothing flat.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. The computer thing would work great, except it needs to be portable. The Korg isn't loud enough. No boombox to hook it up to either (although this seems to be a great idea).

Just checking to see if there is anything like this out there. Simplicity is also a must.

Thanks,
Steve

That's very true...We have that combo...(insert smiley with ears bleeding) I think ours worked to the point where you can hear it around a half mile away!!!

Get one of those big old cube Franz metronomes. Some had a light on top. The plastic ones were actually louder then the wood ones. I have had one for 20 years and it still works, just had to replace the plug a few years ago.
Here is what one looks like:
