a little info.....

Good morning.

The Theinert mouthpieces only come in gold plating, so the silver is out. The Theinert mouthpieces are pretty big - Markus is a strong player in every sense of the word. The interesting thing is that even HE rarely uses the orchestral model anymore. He uses the solo model for just about everything now. The Orchestral one is quite large to the point where an F in the staff starts to sound like a blue jay farting in an empty silo.

WWBW does have a B-stock one on my old desk in the repair shop (call Dan at extension 2222 and have him go see if it is there) as I recall. It may or may not still be there since they did a complete inventory over the weekend. The B-stock one would be a little cheaper and it was only made B-stock from scratches where the mouthpiece was inserted into the horn.

No there's a sound one could aspire to.

I have one that I don't use anymore. I still think it's great and brings out a big sound from any horn but I've basically stuck with a PT-50 because that's what Perantoni suggested I use with my PT-6 (somehow miraphone mouthpieces work better on miraphone tubas and pt horns sound better with pt mouthpieces).
