From my experience with a Yamaha 321:
-I need the main slide out at least 3/4" with a SM4B, >1" with the 48 that came with the horn
-yes false tones can be played, but they sound so different I'm not convinced they are "musical"

A main slide trigger would be great for 6th partial F, or use the 4th valve.

A 1st valve slide trigger won't help the 24 combination, a main trigger can, or just leave your 4th slide out a little bit more...

The 14 low Eb needs a lot of pulling, 124 is much too flat, this is the problem note.

1234 low C is hopelessly sharp.

You'll need that 5th valve for low Bnat.

Not sure if there's more than one bach 4 valve, but the one that looks just like a 321 IS a 321 with the bach stamp.

A main slide trigger can fix just about any note.

Play low Eb 14 and trigger out the main slide about 20 cents.
or play it 124 and trigger in the main slide about 30 cents (if the trigger works that way).

If I recall correctly, low Db isn't a problem, little if any triggering necessary.

The tube lengths on the main slide might not be long enough to trigger C into tune.

I've played one... Yamaha 321 with different valve caps and finger buttons... looks classier. Bach USA Stamped on bell (made in Japan stamped elsewhere).

The new Bach 4 valve euph is a restamped King 2280. It's not updated in the photos on the website but if you look at the pdf files it's there. This would have the 3rd valve ring and spring system.

In the US, there are several shops I've heard of who will do this type of thing--here's one:

and there is a site based in Europe (perhaps from one of the Scandanavian countries or maybe The Netherlands) that sold the gizmo and you could have it installed (or install it) That one I have to look further for, but at least this might get you in the right direction.
